![]() The world of aviation lost a great friend, mentor, and founding member of the Fargo Air Museum when Gerry Beck’s plane crashed at Oshkosh on July 27, 2007. ![]() Gerry’s philanthropy was evident in every aspect of his life. He gave tirelessly of his time, talents, and dreams. Gerry was a visionary, a thinker, and an ultimate go-to guy. He was a humble man who gave everyone’s idea equal consideration. ![]() He was commited to the creation and development the Fargo Air Museum as a first-class flying museum, focusing on education through restoration and preservation. ![]() With restoration projects, he’d make the parts he could not find. With preservation projects, he’d search the world for the set of drawings or plans needed. And, for education projects, no mind was too young or too old to share a conversation about a great idea. ![]() We will miss watching his eyes light up as he talked about the restoration of an airplane, described a new idea, or told how he found some unusual part or set of plans. We will preserve his legacy and honor all that he taught us. Gerry is a legend. ![]() Beck Celebration of Life Quotes: “How do you summarize Beck’s life? We want to measure life in years, but really what matters is the extent of experience and accomplishment. His life was cut short, in the too short of time he was with us, Beck lived an enormous life.” –Doug Rozendaal “Beck made the unimaginable possible, and the simple special.” -Warren Pietsch |
